Founded by Spanish-born, Brooklyn-based designer and creative Maria Gordillo – Marea New York produce unique
sandals with a sense of place. Made with inherently fair and sustainable practices. Marea New York represents the modern
woman, where identity translates everywhere from the city to the shore.
Marea New York have determined authentic and ethical manufacturing sources and continue to be crafted in three small-scale factories in Peru, each under the leadership of women. One for natural dyes of the fabric uppers, next a collective of Peruvian women artisans who braid each textile, and lastly a family-run factory to assemble by hand.
