Founded by the the late Hervé Leroux in 1985, the iconic Hervé Léger redefined women’s fashion with the bandage dress that was later adopted by other brands. This season Herve Leger is staging a great comeback with new Creative Director Christian Juul Nielsen.
For Pre-Fall 2019 Christian Juul Nielsen looked to perennial style icon Jane Birkin’s effortlessly chic 1970s wardrobe for Herve Leger’s 2019 Pre-Fall collection. Think: youthful party dresses, sparkling animal prints, and long, flowing romantic gowns with a touch of the brand’s ubiquitous ‘90s spirit.
New techniques and fabrication are seen throughout the collection and quintessentially cool cocktail attire. Vibrantly coloured fringe, fil coupé texture and shiny lurex are introduced to enhance the iconic bandage technique developed by the brand’s original founder, reminding us that the Herve Leger woman is as fresh and relevant as ever before.
Recognisable design traits are still strongly represented – bandage, body-con, fringe and shine – however new textures and silhouettes, including crop tops and bodysuits, make their Herve Leger debut.
Herve Leger is available in the world’s leading retail outlets including Net-A-Porter, Saks 5th Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Harvey Nichols, Etoile, etc.
