Born in London with an international background, Georgia Hardinge’s early upbringing has given her much opportunity to gain cultural inspiration, of which has been greatly complimented by her passion and fascination with the arts and design. Inspired by new technologies and architectural influences, sculptural designer – Georgia Hardinge, embarked on her journey at Parsons School of Art and Design, Paris, which later led to the creation of her womenswear label – Georgia Hardinge. It was there and then that Georgia won acclaim by receiving the best designer award for her graduate collection, developing her first sculptural aesthetic.
The innovative Georgia Hardinge brand made its debut for London Fashion Week, Spring Summer 2010. With great emphasis on the techniques of minimal pleating from paper sculptures, fused with new technological fabrics and textile treatments, Georgia Hardinge has built her identity as a sculptural designer in the market.
Industry creative; Florence Welch, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys and Grimes amongst others have worn Georgia Hardinge designs. Her signature style continues to be recognised by key digital and printed publications, as well as by the British Fashion Council, who awarded the brand with a Contemporary Sponsorship.
Georgia Hardinge has had other high profile collaborations, inclusive of designing bespoke pieces for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show with Sponsorship from Swarovski, as well as partnering with Lancôme in designing a limited edition bottle, sold exclusively at Selfridges. In addition to this, Georgia has been recognised by the high street’s River Island, developing a 14 piece collection, which sold out within a week of launching.
Most recently, Georgia has been invited by The Animal Ball to design a bespoke mask in collaboration with The Elephant Family, which can be found exhibiting in the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, as well as displayed at Selfridges where they were purchased by Damian and Victoria Aspinal for the Royal Family’s prestigious Animal Ball. Liz Hurley was spotted wearing Georgia’s Macaw mask at a pre-ball dinner and Sabine Getty attended the Ball in bespoke Georgia Hardinge.
